Event Information & Player Guidelines

1. Tee Times & Player Briefing

  • Tee Times: Sent via email 24-48 hours before the event with your group details.
  • Player Briefing: Small events include briefing notes via a link. Larger events may have a pre-round briefing for all players.

2. Dress Code

  • On Course: Collared shirts tucked in, belts required, black socks only allowed to be worn with black shoes.
  • Off Course: No hats indoors; clean shoes before entering the clubhouse.

3. Handicapping Rules

  • Fewer than 3 rounds (no handicap): Ineligible for positional prizes. Daily handicap of 18 for males, and 36 for females.
  • Fewer than 5 rounds: 50% GA handicap applied (max 18).
  • Fewer than 10 rounds: 70% GA handicap applied.
  • 10+ rounds: Full GA handicap applies.

4. Scoring

  • Stableford: Earn points for each hole based on your score vs par.
  • Nett Stroke: Handicap-adjusted gross scores; lowest nett wins.
  • Ambrose: Team format using the best shot on each turn.

5. Mobile Scoring System

  • We use the Golf Genius app for seamless scorekeeping. Download Here.

6. Pace of Play

  • Keep pace with the group ahead to ensure a smooth round for everyone.

7. Carts

  • Carts may be included in your entry fee for certain events.
  • You can book your own cart directly via the course pro shop. Payment to be made to pro shop on the day.
  • Note: TGC is not responsible for cart damages. Members with GOLF Link numbers may claim damages via insurance—report incidents immediately.

8. Pro Pin & Novelty Holes

  • Pro Pin: $5 entry; nearest to pin wins the prize pool.
  • Novelty Holes: Fun challenges announced via the app.

9. Rules & Local Penalties

  • No gimmes—hole every putt.
  • Lost ball? 3-minute search rule applies.
  • Model Local Rule E-5: Drop with a 2-stroke penalty for lost or out-of-bounds balls.

10. Post-Match Presentation

  • Held 15 minutes after the last group finishes. Celebrate the day’s highlights together!

11. Code of Conduct

  • Show respect, play fair, and avoid aggressive or discriminatory behavior. Violations may result in disqualification.

12. Fun & Inclusivity

  • Enjoy the game, celebrate successes, and prioritize fun over perfection.
  • All are welcome, including members of other clubs.
  • Non-members can play in up to events per calendar year before membership is required.
