Important Local Rule Changes
The Temporary Local Rules (TLR) are changing effective from Tuesday 12th March.
An existing TLR allowing for Lift, Clean and Place on scarified fairways is withdrawn because the fairways have recovered sufficiently for this not to be necessary.
A new TLR is introduced to allowed for Lift, Clean and Place relief from the collars of the greens which, due to overspray chemical damage, are in poor condition and will require time to recover.
Temporary Local Rule
Preferred Lie on the Collar of the Green.
Due to the abnormal condition of the collars around the greens, when a player’s ball lies on the closely cut collar of the green the player may prefer the lie within one (1) club length.
The process is: -
1) Mark the ball position with a marker (tee, ball marker, coin, etc)
2) Lift and clean. Cleaning is optional.
3) Place (not drop) the ball one (1) club-length no nearer the hole and not on any part of the putting surface.
4) Once placed, the ball is in play and cannot be replaced. JCC Match Committee
