Two Ball Ambrose Rules
Most Important Rules
- 2-Person Ambrose format: Both players tee off, and the team chooses the preferred ball for each subsequent shot until it is holed.
- Within hazards, the general playing areas, and throughout the green, the chosen ball can be cleaned, placed, and struck in any sequence, with the allowance of one card length.
- Players must ensure that each shot is taken from the same lie as the chosen ball; they are not permitted to improve their lie, such as moving from rough to fairway.
- Each player must take a minimum of 6 tee shots, with at least 3 tee shots on each 9 holes. Failure to meet this requirement results in a two-stroke penalty per unused tee shot.
- Longest drive shot must come to rest on the fairway, without doubt.
- Once on the green, Player One has the option to putt out after their initial attempt. However, if they miss the second putt, the ball then becomes live, and Player Two does not get a putt from the original spot.
